Jack_Webb died in 1982, about a decade before the commercialized Internet was starting up.
"This spread of internetworking began to form into the idea of a global network that would be called the Internet, based on standardized protocols officially implemented in 1982."

How appropriate that a man named Jack Webb would create a TV series called Dragnet. Back in the 1950s, most people would not be able to understand the concept of a World Wide Web of Internet police communications.
Indeed, the Dragnet_(series) was as much about the technology that assists police in LA, the rest of the USA & even the world. The development of policing remains as a work in progress & although not perfect, it continues to evolve with the times.

Jack Webb created Mark_VII Limited. Dragnet & Emergency! were his 2 most successful shows. The Internet & several other technologies continue to be integral components of various emergency services.
Perhaps George_Orwell had some very dark technological visions, or just wanted to write a cautionary story about police_states. In any case, Nineteen_Eighty-Four is one of the most thought provoking books ever written.
Long before all this modern technology, first nations people had a spiritual awareness. http://www.robertghostwolf.com
